My Secret Formula for Beating Cold Weather!

Change is in the air!

When I stepped outside this morning for my first walk of the day, things were different. There was a chill in the air. The air was cool and crisp. I knew the sun had progressively been coming up later each morning, but today it really felt like Fall. In some ways I welcome cooler weather because it takes the edge off the really hot days. On the other hand, going for a hike now means more items in my pack to make sure I’m safe and comfortable. There is an option to cooler weather.  I know you knew I was going to suggest this.  The option?  Lacing up the boots and joining us on a magical exploration of Costa Rica!  If you’ve ever imagined what Paradise might be like, you might consider Costa Rica as one definition.  Beautiful blue skies, sunny bright days, majestic cloud forests, one of the greatest varieties of wildlife in the world, hot springs, long white beaches great for swimming and strolling, more than 100 varieties of fruit, some of the nicest people in the world and volanoes still humming with life. So?  When are we going?  We have a few spaces still left on our December 10-19 trip and we would love to have you join us.  In any case, if you would love to escape to a tropical paradise, give us a call or send us an email and join us on a walking vacation you’ll never forget.  Click this link to view the daily itinerary:  http://www.walkingtheworld.com/Trips/OtherDestinations/costa_rica.html Tip:  If you’re traveling to a tropical destination, I recommend taking along a compact umbrella.  Because of the humidity in tropical areas, wearing rain gear is not always the most comfortable experience.  With high humidity in the air, even the best of “breathable” rain gear cannot do the job it was made for.  In addition, if you’ve ever tried to turn your head in most rain gear, you know that the hood doesn’t always cooperate, making looking at the rare monkey your guide just pointed out, difficult.  Using a compact umbrella allows you to stay mostly dry without a rain jacket and allows you full range of motion when you’re looking at your surroundings.  We include a listing for a compact umbrella on our equipment list for our walking tour of Costa Rica.
